Dear Business Savvy WAHM,

I know you are passionate about what you do. I know your family is depending on you to get them through these uncertain financial times. I know you are ready to finally have your small home based business to earn BIG " Lets eat out every weekend" Money. I also know that you would prefer someone who understands the challenges you face as a progressive, business minded woman in a male dominated world and the added pressures of being a better mom.

I know because that's me too! My name is Malika Duke and back in October of 2007 I was a struggling, stranger stalking, family pestering, cold calling, broke busted and disgusted network marketing evangelist, part-time mess of a WAHM. And I had been that 9 and a half years! Back then I was desperately seeking a cure for the looming alternative: Getting A... it's even hard to write...Regular J.O.B!

Just the thought had my mind racing about the rising cost of day care, working with "hater b!&ches" that always want to gossip and complain. worst of all... Trying to quiet that unrelenting voice that screams, "If you quit on your business, you are quitting on your dreams." And who wants to do that? I would look at my kids faces when we ate leisurely breakfasts together or take strolls to the park or pool and I did not want to give that up.

If Pennies Felt Pain...

I could give up just so I could go to work for a few pennies per hour that would barely cover gas, eating out for lunch, fighting through traffic both ways then coordinating the after school pick up...Aaargh! Not to mention my lack of excitement about having a boss. And I was ready to stop pinching pennies and say YES to your self and your kids more often. 

I had little direction or help but a had a burning desire and woman's intuition to guide me... right into a ton of headache and more failure! But it was short lived because of my intensive training (9+ years) in exactly what NOT to do. Other wonderful WAHMs (and amazing men) reached out to help me and I would like to pass that on to you.

If you've been to this site before today, you have seen a site that was cute but shallow. Granted, the site was new (went live in mid August) but, it became popular pretty quickly. It had immediately started to produce cash and recognition and then it hit me like a pillow fight... I wanted it to be more than just another WAHM product show case or a rinky-dinky WAHM Directory with a bunch of banner ads. No, thats just not fair to you but I knew that not everyone could afford to invest thousands of dollars and just as many WAHM hours to learn the million dollar value of information I now had trapped inside my brain.
